Welcome to Whynot, North Carolina, population 3,872. It has one stoplight, one bar, and the one-and-only Trixie Mancinkus. Eleven years ago, Trixie graduated Harvard Law, turned down a job offer from one of the most prestigious law firms in Boston, and headed home to Whynot to open her own firm. Not only did she leave behind the big city, but she also left her boyfriend of three years. And just so we’re clear… that would be me. So what am I doing in Whynot at this very moment? It seems Trixie needs help with a legal case and for some insane reason, she called on me for assistance. I’ve been in town for five minutes, and I’m every bit as out of place as I feel. Trixie is all sweet, southern curves to my tailored suits and high-priced haircuts. It’s a culture clash of north versus south and about the only thing we have in common is our physical attraction to each other. But I have a new motto since coming to Whynot: When life hands you lemons, all you need is a little sex and sweet tea to make things better.

Juliette Poe has delivered a stunning debut in the first installment of the Sex and Sweet Tea series and I'm anxiously awaiting for the next one!

Trixie Mancinkus is a Harvard graduate and instead of chasing the big city lawyer path and staying with the man she loved, she chose to head back home to the small town of Whynot, North Carolina and open up her own practice. She didn't just leave behind the big city dreams, but also the man she loved, Ryland Powers. Her leaving left him broken hearted, but they both wanted different things so they ended up going their own way, carrying their broken hearts with them.

Eleven years later, Trixie reaches out to Ryland for help in a case and soon he's flying out to North Carolina. The feelings they both had for each other are rekindled on the first few days of meeting again and Trixie and Ryland and both left unsure of what to do. Both are leading different lives with one in the city and the other in the country, but will one of them be able to sacrifice it all for the other?

Ain't He Precious? is written by Sawyer Bennet's pename Juliette Poe and I can already tell I'll be binge reading more of her novels because this one just blew me away! This book had everything I was hoping for and more with it's lovable characters both main and side, a writing style that had me hooked from the very beginning, and of course the sweet little town that the story took place in. Poe gave us a charming second chance romance novella that will captivate readers hearts and make them ache for more!

Trixie was a character that I adored from the very first page. She was smart, she was loyal to the people she loved and cared for, she was determined, and she was a feisty southern woman that kicked ass and took names later.  With our other character and love interest, Ryland, boy was he a dream! He was charming, witty, had the same determination as Trixie and was career driven. Both these characters were like two peas in a pod and it was enjoyable getting to see their relationship form from former lovers, to friends, to their love being rekindled again.

Ain't He Precious? was the first book in this charmingly hilarious and sexy series that will leave readers wishing for more right after finishing. Juliette Poe has delivered a stunning debut in the first installment of the Sex and Sweet Tea series and I'm anxiously awaiting for the next one! Even it's a novella length, Poe manages to develop the characters and story at the perfect pace and gives readers a chance to get to fall in love with the characters and the charming little town of Whynot. If you're wanting a good contemporary romance that you can quickly fly through, Ain't He Precious? is the book for you!
